There's no point in using a technique that you've seen somewhere before. It's not enough to be unique. We wanted to create something never seen before without losing the classic charm of Wallabee. SEVEN BY SEVEN's answer was to create a unique customization using special pigments.

Creates a velour-like brushed feel

This time, we used a special powdered pigment, which is sprayed onto the product and then discharged to adhere it to the product, creating a special flocking process.

The body of the book is made by spraying and fixing powder pigments, giving it a velvet-like texture. This is a reproduction of the technique often seen in binding old books to give the covers a velvet-like texture.

The shoelaces are also made with the same texture

In addition, the shoelaces are brushed to match the texture of the body. They have a vintage feel, but also a modern and sophisticated appearance. That hybrid feel is what makes them so appealing.

Even the rubber sole is minimalist

Another thing to pay attention to is the sole. The key point this time is that even the rubber sole, an iconic detail of the Wallabee, has been sprayed. By covering the whole shoe with a fuzzy material that absorbs light, it also acquires a sense of elegance, almost like a minimalist dress shoe. The finish gives the shoe a new sense of coordination possibilities.

At first glance, it looks like suede leather, but it's actually pigment spray. This combination of authenticity and newness is exactly what SEVEN BY SEVEN aimed for. It's something no one has ever seen before, but it's not outlandish. It's an item that you should definitely pick up and feel the mood of.
