Designer Kawakami came across the multi-coloured Madras check by chance while visiting India to get inspiration for the collection. The secret to the irregular and varied pattern is that it uses leftover threads from a factory. The new Madras check is created by collecting the leftover threads and randomly weaving them. The fabric is thin and has just the right amount of stiffness, making it delicate and light. This spring Madras is perfect for wearing as if you are wearing a layer of air between your body and your clothes.
Did you know that cotton in ancient times was colored? The UNSTAINED LINE is a special line that uses colored cotton that has been revived in modern times using organic farming methods and is incorporated into products.
