A denim jacket-style knit jacket made using indigo yarn.
Typically, indigo-colored knitwear is dyed after the finished product is made. This is because indigo's tendency to migrate easily onto the knitting machine makes it impossible to produce without specialized machinery. However, Seven By Seven encountered one of the few artisans in Japan who knits using indigo yarn, and created a knitwear piece made with indigo yarn. Each individual thread is dyed with a neutral indigo color, resulting in a distinctive denim-like crease. The cotton material also allows for the unique aging of indigo, allowing for enjoyment. Another unique feature is the twill weave used in the knit to recreate the denim look. While at first glance it may look like denim, the knit construction creates a unique softness. To further enhance the denim jacket feel, the brand's signature approach is enhanced by the addition of buffalo buttons resembling tuck buttons (metal buttons found on jeans, etc.). This denim-style indigo knit jacket has a textured finish and changes over time.
